Dr. Benjamin T. Rush joins Rush Health Systems
Rush Health Systems recently announced that Benjamin T. Rush, D.O. has joined the staff of Rush Foundation Hospital and will be joining G. Dan Van Cleve, M.D. in practice at the Rush Heart Institute in Meridian. Dr. Rush specializes in the practice of Cardiovascular, Thoracic, Aortic and Endovascular Surgery.
Dr. Rush completed his undergraduate studies at Emory University and received his doctorate degree from the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in 1999. After interning in general surgery at Ochsner Medical Foundation Hospital, Dr. Rush completed a general surgery residency at the University of Tennessee and a cardiothoracic residency at the Baylor College of Medicine in the Michael E. DeBakey surgical program. Most recently, he completed an endovascular fellowship minimally invasive vascular surgery at the Arizona Heart Institute.
Dr. Rush is a Meridian native and is the great grandson of the founder of Rush, Dr. J.H. Rush and son of Dr. Vaughan and Francis Rush. He and his wife, Laura, have one daughter and relocated to the Meridian area. Rush Health Systems is headquartered in Meridian, Mississippi with healthcare facilities in East Mississippi and West Alabama. The organization includes Rush Foundation Hospital, Specialty Hospital of Meridian, Medical Foundation, Inc., Magna Home Health, Rush Medical Group, Laird Hospital and J.G. Alexander Nursing Center in Union, Mississippi, H.C. Watkins Hospital in Quitman, Mississippi and Scott Regional Hospital in Morton, Mississippi.
