CMMC Welcomes Neurosurgeon Lon F. Alexander, M.D. to Medical Staff

Central Mississippi Medical Center recently welcomed Lon F. Alexander, M.D., to its medical staff. Dr. Alexander is a board certified fellowship trained neurosurgeon who is returning to CMMC from his private practice in Columbus, MS.

Dr. Alexander received medical degree from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, LA. He completed an internship and residency in neurosurgery at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, Department of Neurosurgery in Jackson, MS. He completed a fellowship in Cerebrovascular and Endovascular Surgery at the Kiev Neurological Institute, Kiev, USSR and a fellowship in Cerebrovascular Surgery at the Nagoya University School of Medicine in Nagoya, Japan.

Dr. Alexander specializes in cerebrovascular surgery and the treatment of cerebrovascular disease which includes stroke, carotid stenosis, vertebral stenosis and intracranial stenosis, aneurysms, and vascular malformations.
