Dr. James Glisson and Dr. Linda Monroe, both assistant professors of medicine, have joined University of Mississippi Medical Center. They will see patients through University Physicians, part of University of Mississippi Health Care.
A native of Corinth, Glisson earned the Pharm.D. cum laude in 1997 and completed a community pharmacy residency in 1998 at the University of Mississippi. While in pharmacy school, he was a member of the Rho Chi Pharmacy Honor Society and served as the organization's president. He received the M.D. from UMMC in 2002, where he served as an intern physician from 2002-03 and as a resident physician from 2003-05 in the Department of Internal Medicine.
Since 2005, Glisson has served as clinic director of the Cross City Medical Clinic in Corinth, as a member of the medical staff at the Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth and as a member of the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee at the Magnolia Regional Health Center.
Monroe received her M.D. from the School of Medicine at the University of Mississippi Medical Center and completed internship and residency training at the University of Tennessee. She joins the Medical Center faculty after working in private practice for the Internal Family Medicine Group in Columbia, Tenn.
