Mississippi State Hospital (MSH) recently honored employees with June anniversary dates for their years of service to the hospital. Service Awards are given to employees in the month of their date of hire, beginning with one year, followed by every fifth anniversary year.
Employees receive a Certificate of Appreciation and a Service Award Pin. The program is sponsored by Friends of Mississippi State Hospital, Inc.
Five employees were honored for providing two decades of service to the hospital.
Akila Moody of Edwards was recognized for providing 20 years of service. Moody is a vocational training instructor at Mississippi State Hospital.
Bruce Parker of Jackson was recognized for providing 20 years of service. Parker is a nurse at Mississippi State Hospital.
Kelvin Grissom of Macon was recognized for providing 20 years of service. Grissom is direct care supervisor at Mississippi State Hospital.
Jerone Lacking of Jackson was recognized for providing 20 years of service. Lacking is a unit director at Mississippi State Hospital.
Sherry Holloway of Brandon was recognized for providing 20 years of service. Holloway is a director in the social services department at Mississippi State Hospital.
Two employees, Marie Bingham of Jackson and Mara Jean Johnson of Richland, were honored for providing 35 years of service to the hospital.
Mara Jean Johnson is social work supervisor at Mississippi State Hospital. She has a bachelor’s degree in sociology and social work from the University of Mississippi and a master’s degree in social work from the University of Southern Mississippi.
Marie Bingham is a supervisor in the Environmental Services Department at the hospital.
