The annual meeting of the MHA Society for Healthcare Engineers and Facility Managers was held June 25-26 in Bay St. Louis. During this event, Larry D. Jones was named the 2012 Dennis Cagle Emerging Leader for the Society.
Larry Jones serves as the Director of Facility Operations for North Mississippi Medical Center, Pontotoc. According to Fred Hood, Hospital Administrator, Larry is one of the most knowledgeable and capable Facops supervisors; he is an energetic, pro-active leader whose goal is to accomplish every task accurately and in a timely manner. He develops his employees in the same manner, giving them opportunities to learn new skills.
Larry has voluntarily increased his job knowledge and value by attaining national certifications – CHFM, CHEP, and CHSP. He is also a member of ASHE and a current Board member for the Society, representing the Northeast Council. These achievements demonstrate his drive to better himself and, by doing so, results in the enhancement of the physical plant status of the hospital. He is heavily involved in emergency operations readiness and serves in a strategic capacity in the county’s disaster preparedness program. He is also dedicated to his community, serving in several volunteer organizations including the Lion’s Club and the annual motorcycle rally and family fun day.
Larry demonstrates honesty and integrity in the performance of his duties and is well regarded by other managers. He is sensitive to the need for confidentiality in the handling of security issues and can be counted upon to do the right thing in every situation he approaches. This is a manager who knows what to do and requires very little, if any, direct supervision from Administration.
Congratulations, Larry D. Jones, on this prestigious award. As the winner of this award, he will serve as the Society’s nominee for ASHE’s Emerging Leader Award during the 2012 Chapter Affiliation Process.
