Singing River Health System has honored Dean Ross, Patricia McRae and Glenda Townson as July Employees of the Month.
Ross was born in Pascagoula, Miss., where she attended Pascagoula High School. Prior to joining Singing River Health System, Ross worked at the Mississippi Press and for attorney Joe White. In 2002 Ross began working as an IPS clerical coordinator and moved to her current position with the Education department five years later.
Ross currently lives in Pascagoula with her husband Ken Ross. She has two children and two grandchildren. When not working, Ross enjoys camping, bicycling and swimming.
Ross said, “I enjoy working for an organization that has been part of our community for so long.” Ross also enjoys helping guests and said, “Whenever a guest has that lost look, I help them find their way to their destination.”
McRae was born in Abilene, Texas, and was raised in Lawton, Okla.She attended Eisenhower High School and graduated college in Garden City, Kan. with a degree in nursing. Before joining SRHS in 2011, McRae worked for several hospitals spanning 28 years.
McRae currently lives in Vancleave, Miss. and has three sons and four grandsons. When not working, she enjoys square dancing and playing the fiddle.
According to McRae, she enjoys working for SRHS because everyone is so friendly. She added, “The OR has an awesome team mentality and an all about the patient philosophy that I love.” McRae credits herself with always listening to patients’ needs and concerns. She then follows up to ensure that their needs are met.
Townson was born and raised in Pascagoula, Miss., where she attended Pascagoula High School. Before joining Singing River Health System in 2008, Townson worked at the Mississippi Coast Endoscopy and Ambulatory Surgery Center.
Townson resides in Moss Point, Miss. and has two children and three grandchildren. When not working, Townson enjoys cooking, working in the yard and traveling.
Townson said she enjoys working for SRHS because she gets to work with a great group of individuals. Her favorite part of her job is getting to meet and help individuals in the community.
