Pediatrician joins Pioneer Community Hospital staff

Pioneer Community Hospital will welcome a pediatrician to its list of providers in the coming weeks. Dr. Vickie D. Jones comes to Aberdeen following professional experience in the United States Air Force and in facilities in North Carolina and Georgia.

Pioneer installs auxiliary officers

Pioneer Community Hospital recently installed officers for the Hospital Auxiliary. Leading the Pink Ladies for the upcoming year will be Hershey Turnage, president; Sara Gardner, vice-president; Grace Scott, treasurer; and Ann Watson, secretary. Turnage served as the first president of the group when it was organized in 1994. The Auxiliary also welcomed three new members, Joan Lankford, Jean Bowen and Wynette Byars.

Pioneer Community Hospital opens sleep lab

Pioneer Community Hospital has opened a sleep lab at its Hamilton Clinic. The lab opened on Oct. 3 and performs sleep studies three nights a week. Dr. Frank Qureshi works with the sleep lab to study the data collected.

Pioneer upgrades ER, Pharmacy

Pioneer Community Hospital in Aberdeen recently renovated their emergency room and pharmacy. The ER had not been renovated since it was built in 1972. In the renovation, it also gained additional space, going from 2,000 to 3,500 square feet. The pharmacy was also expanded and now has two windows, one for inpatient needs and one for retail. The hospital also opened a pharmacy, the Hamilton Pharmacy, located at their new clinic on Hamilton Road.
