Scott Regional Hospital of Morton, MS, became a division of Rush Health Systems on September 1, 2007. The goal of the Rush network is to make quality healthcare accessible as possible for the citizens of East Central Mississippi and West Alabama.

Scott Regional, which opened in 1993, serves the healthcare needs of Scott, Rankin, Smith and Leake counties. The 30–bed hospital has 20 critical access beds and a 10–bed senior care unit. The hospital which has a staff of 150 offers an array of outpatient and inpatient services, such as emergency care, radiology, respiratory therapy, physical therapy, laboratory, swing bed and nursing services.

“We believe this is a great addition to our healthcare group as we strive to provide compassionate care to the citizens of East Central Mississippi and West Alabama.” states Wallace Strickland, President, Chief Executive Officer, Rush Health Systems.

Scott Regional Hospital Administrator Mike Edwards said, “Providing exceptional service that exceeds the expectations of our patients, families, and medical staff has been the goal of Scott Regional Hospital for the past 14 years. Today, we are excited to become a part of Rush Health Systems with over 90 years of healthcare service to Meridian and the surrounding area. Joining the Rush family will bring financial stability, medical expertise, and the opportunity for growth and development to our hospital. Rush Health Systems will be a valuable resource allowing our facility to have access to the most up-to-date technology, specialty physicians, expanded services, and improvements to our facility. We are looking forward to a positive relationship with Rush and the continuation of quality healthcare for our community for years to come.”

Hospital Board Member and Mayor of Morton, Greg Butler, adds, “We're pleased that Rush Health Systems will now be a part of the Morton community. I have heard many wonderful things about what Rush has done in providing quality healthcare in other communities in east Mississippi. I feel confident that they will help enhance the quality healthcare that we already presently have here in Morton."

Rush Health Systems is headquartered in Meridian, Mississippi with healthcare facilities in East Mississippi and West Alabama. The organization includes Rush Foundation Hospital, Specialty Hospital of Meridian, Medical Foundation, Inc., Rush Homecare, Rush Medical Group, Laird Hospital and J.G.
