Coastal Mississippi Health Care Trust helps rebuild medical care in Moss Point
Coastal Mississippi Health Care Trust, the charitable foundation organized and created by Singing River Hospital System in Gautier, has donated $50,000 to help establish the Coastal Family Health Center in Moss Point. Merck Pharmaceuticals donated a modular building for the clinic and CMHCT’s donation paid transportation costs to truck the modular units (five separate components) from Pennsylvania to Moss Point.
Project Hope has adopted CFHC and will provide all necessary items to make the clinic available for medical care. Hands On USA is reassembling the modular building, which arrived on five separate trailers. Dr. Sid Ross, a family practice physician who lost his medical clinic during Hurricane Katrina, and Dr. Sam Simmons, an internal medicine specialist, will join the center to provide much-needed medical care in Moss Point.
