From the United States Fire Administration (USFA) comes a program called “Coffee Break Training.”
The program is for fire and building inspectors with busy daily schedules who may not have time to attend skills-enhancing training sessions. Presented in the form of a bulletin short enough to read during one's daily break, the one-page training notices, posted every Tuesday, provide information about technical training in fire protection systems, building construction, codes and standards, inspection techniques, and hazardous materials while offering tips for smoothing administrative tasks. Each notice includes a photograph or drawing that illustrates the point of the training lesson.
Future sessions will address such topics as details for fire pump installations, liquefied petroleum gas storage regulations, standpipe and sprinkler systems, and storage of lightweight roof trusses on job sites.
