On Oct. 23, the Mississippi Hospital Association will host Managing Managed Care: Training, Tips & Tools to Succeed at the MHA Conference Center in Madison.
Health care providers continue to be faced with tremendous challenges to balance quality health care and appropriate payments for services to ensure continued access to care for their patients. Healthcare reform legislation promises to add major layers of changes to the numerous regulatory and reimbursement issues providers face on a daily basis.
Managed care plans have always been a challenge to administer due to the variability in plan requirements, lack of specificity in the actual contracts and lack of understanding by providers regarding their resources and options for effective management. Failure to address these issues may impact a provider’s revenue exponentially in the immediate and long term future.
This session will focus on managing managed care by addressing key topics to assist the provider in the development of a successful model to administer the plans. Included in this program will be a look at the various types of managed care plans including similarities and differences, a summary of the provisions of each that is most relevant to providers, applicable regulations and sample tips, tools and techniques to help providers address a variety of managed care scenarios.
