Webinar to help hospitals prepare for Cover the Uninsured Week

The American Hospital Association, Catholic Health Association of the United States, and Federation of American Hospitals on Feb. 26 will host a Webinar for hospitals interested in participating in Cover the Uninsured Week, March 22-28. Hospital association executives and members of the CTUW national team will discuss the focus of this year’s effort, suggested events and activities, and free materials available to event planners. Hospitals also will share what has worked in planning successful events in the past.

The AHA is a national partner in CTUW, an annual campaign to raise awareness about the 46 million Americans without health insurance and enroll eligible uninsured children and adults in low-cost or free health coverage programs.

Guide looks at nation’s uninsured, proposed solutions

The Alliance for Health Reform has updated its guide on Health Care Coverage in America for Cover the Uninsured Week, April 23-29. The guide summarizes key issues related to the nation’s uninsured population and proposed solutions to help Americans participate in the national debate.

The American Hospital Association is a national partner in Cover the Uninsured Week, a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation project, which this year will promote the importance of children's health coverage.

Event to illustrate ways to brew up support for the uninsured

The Association for Community Health Improvement will present a free audio-conference May 5 featuring a model developed by Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton, MA, to extend access to care, and the hospital’s innovative venture to get business involved in supporting the uninsured. The hospital partnered with a local “fair-trade” coffee roaster to create and sell a special coffee blend that helps raise visibility and money for the uninsured, and links people with the health coverage and care they need.
