On Wednesday, April 11, the Mississippi Hospital Association will host a webinar, Union Avoidance: A Manager’s Guide to Developing Engaged Staff.
Healthcare is one of the last opportunities for organized labor to increase its market share. Limited resources (money and manpower) create immense challenges for managers as they strive to provide quality care while keeping staff “happy.” In addition, the AFL-CIO has joined forces in some parts of the country with nursing labor organizations.
This union could result in job actions of an unprecedented magnitude. This webinar will provide department heads/managers with a basic understanding of the skill sets required for success in meeting the challenge of creating a collaborative and engaging work environment. When staffs are engaged and committed to an organization, there is no need for an “intermediary” to speak to them…there is no need for a union.
The cost for this webinar is $175 for MHA members and $325 for non-members. Register online here. For more information, contact Karen Hargett at (601) 368-3263 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
