The Association for Healthcare Resource & Materials Management, an American Hospital Association personal membership group, on Jan. 25 launched an Academic Council for Healthcare Supply Chain Research. Eugene Schneller, professor at Arizona State University's W. P. Carey School of Business, and Leroy Schwarz, professor at Purdue University's Krannert School of Management, will co-chair the council, which evolved from a research symposium hosted by AHRMM in fall 2009.
The group plans to meet annually and share its publications on an ongoing basis through AHRMM's Knowledge Center. Researchers and institutions interested in working with the council should contact Leroy Schwarz at LSchwarz@purdue.edu.
