The board of directors for the MHA Society for Supply Chain Management in Healthcare (SSCMH) has approved amendments to the bylaws of the society. The amended bylaws are attached below.
The 21st annual “Businesses Come Home to Jackson” celebration for Jackson area minority businesses was held on June 30, 2010, at Jackson State University. Mayor Harvey Johnson, Jr. delivered the keynote address at the celebration that recognizes organizations and individuals that have demonstrated unselfish contributions and support of Jackson’s minority owned businesses. In addition, Honoree’s are recognized for promoting the awareness of partnering with Mississippi’s minority-owned enterprises.
Mr. Ed Smith, Executive Director of Supply Chain Management at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, was named the 2010 Public Service Honoree. In his role as Executive Director of Supply Chain Management at UMMC and as President of the Mississippi Hospital Association’s Society for Supply Chain Management in Healthcare, Mr. Smith is championing the movement to support Mississippi’s small and minority owned businesses.
The Certified Materials Resource Professional (CMRP) is the premier national credential based on a sound assessment that provides you distinction in an increasingly competitive marketplace. Eligibility requirements include a blend of education and experience in addition to taking and passing the 110-question CMRP Examination.
The Mississippi Hospital Association is hosting a two-part AHRMM workshop on July 8 and 15 from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the MHA Conference Center in Madison that will cover the five core content areas of the exam: Purchasing/Product Value Analysis, Inventory Distribution Management, Information Systems, Finance, and Strategic Planning/Leadership. This FREE workshop will also provide helpful test-taking tips.
