Day-to-day revenue cycle processes are critical to a hospital’s strategic effort to obtain accurate reimbursement and manage cash flow, but health care providers continue to struggle to preserve consistent positive results. The Mississippi Hospital Association will host a revenue cycle workshop, Taking Charge of the Revenue Cycle, on October 2-3.
With the expansion of value based purchasing payment programs and the explosion of external reporting of provider information to the public, it is mission critical that organizations have a practical plan that has the greatest impact on the bottom line and the integrity of what is reported to external agencies. This program is designed to focus on the processes and practices that address the touch points of the revenue cycle with the greatest opportunity for improvement, look at the increasing importance of accurate documentation, understand the significance of emphasizing “upstream” versus “downstream” revenue cycle management activities, and understand the growing influence of value based purchasing on the organization.
