The Hospital Quality Alliance has updated the Hospital Compare Web site with fourth-quarter 2007 data. The updated site provides data on heart attack, heart failure, pneumonia, surgical and pediatric asthma care for patients discharged from participating hospitals in 2007, as well as HCAHPS data on patient experiences with care. No new measures were added.
HQA, whose members include the American Hospital Association, is a national public-private collaboration of hospital groups, consumer representatives, physician and nursing organizations, employers and payers, oversight organizations and government agencies dedicated to encouraging hospitals to voluntarily collect and make public quality of care information.
