The Mississippi Hospital Association (MHA) has entered into an agreement with COMPdata from the Illinois Hospital Association to provide our members with the ability to submit data directly to MHA for inclusion in the State of Mississippi Hospital Discharge Data System (as mandated by the Legislature in 2008) and the ability to subscribe to the reporting package available through MHA COMPdata.
MHA COMPdata is the most comprehensive and multidisciplinary source of comparative utilization, clinical, physician, financial, demographic, market share, quality, performance measurement, and severity-adjusted information available. It now includes ROLAP (Relational Online Analytical Processing), a powerful, customized, ad hoc query tool for targeted reporting and analysis.
MHA COMPdata has also added a great new reporting tool that makes it easy to view the AHRQ Quality and Patient Safety Indicators, with a quick and easy method for subscribers to load their data into the AHRQ software by using MHA COMPdata ROLAP. MHA COMPdata also includes data collection services that ensure the most timely, high quality, and accurate data are available on the COMPdata system by applying Medicare Code Edits. MHA COMPdata is also an affordable tool for meeting Joint Commission Core Measurement data collection and transmission requirements.
COMPdata will host an introductory session for CEOs, COOs and CFOs on Tuesday, September 1, at 10 a.m. at the MHA Offices. This session will provide an overview of the data elements required and the submission process as well as an in-depth look at the reporting capabilities. Regional educational sessions for the designated Data Coordinators at each facility are also being scheduled.
The addition of COMPdata and its robust reporting cababilities to MHA Data Soultions, along with the other products available - MHA DATABANK, HAYNS/Datagen and Health Forecasts - will provide our members with a valuable data package to enable you to meet the challenges that lie before us in the ever-changing health care industry.
MHA Data Solutions will continue to look for data offerings to assist our members in the invaluable work that you do in offering the best health care available to your patients. For more information, cotact Steve Lesley at (800) 289-8884, (601) 368-3312 or slesley@mhanet.org.
