Hospitals participating in the Medicare pay-for-reporting program must indicate by Aug. 15 whether they participate in systematic databases for cardiac surgery, stroke or nursing sensitive care, and acknowledge the accuracy and completeness of their quality data. Hospitals must submit the data to www.QualityNet.org to receive their annual payment update for fiscal year 2011.
The data accuracy and completeness acknowledgement is a new requirement this year for the pay-for-reporting program. Hospitals that do not perform cardiac surgeries will be able to indicate that for their data submission.
