ONC Extends Request for Information Comment Period for Quality Measure Reporting

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, in conjunction with the Office of the National Coordinator of Health Information Technology, this week extended its request for information (RFI) comment period to Feb 16.

This RFI seeks public comment regarding several items related to the certification of health information technology, including electronic health records products used for reporting to certain CMS quality reporting programs. Providers are required to provide information under the Hospital Inpatient Quality Reporting Program or under the Physician Quality Reporting System.

In addition, CMS is requesting feedback on how often to require recertification, the number of clinical quality measures a certified health IT module should be required to certify to and testing of certified health IT modules.
