Sharing vital information about diabetes and training volunteers to continue diabetes classes will be the focus Aug. 17, 18, and 19 at Information & Healthcare (IQH). Conducting the training will be IQH quality improvement advisors Willie Ann Thomas and Brenda Townsend, who are certified instructors in the Diabetes Education and Empowerment Program (DEEP).
Willie Ann is a graduate of Mississippi College with a bachelor of science degree in nursing. She received a specialty in enterostomal therapy nursing from Emory University in Atlanta. Brenda Townsend, a licensed childbirth educator, earned her R. N. degree at Mississippi University for Women and has 38 years experience in nursing, including home health and clinic nurse duties.
