The Medicaid and CHIP Payment and Access Commission (MACPAC) this week released its latest report on Medicaid statistics and trends. The December 2016 edition of the MACStats: Medicaid and CHIP Data Book provides state-level and national data on many Medicaid and State Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) topics including enrollment, spending, eligibility levels and access to care. Mississippi-specific data is included.
MACPAC is a non-partisan legislative branch agency that provides policy and data analysis and makes recommendations to Congress, the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the states on Medicaid issues. The agency is required to review national and state-specific Medicaid and CHIP data as part of its statutory mandate under Title XIX of the Social Security Act. Additional data can be found on the MACPAC Web site.
