CMS has conditions of participation (CoPs) interpretive guidelines for all hospitals regarding their telemedicine standards. The regulations and interpretive guidelines also affect hospitals accredited by the Joint Commission (TJC). This program will discuss the most problematic standards in the telemedicine interpretive guidelines.
The regulations cover the revised credentialing and privileging process for physicians and practitioners providing telemedicine services. The process is less burdensome and is now a smaller financial liability for hospitals.
MHA will host CMS Hospital Conditions of Participation and Joint Commission Standards: Telemedicine Credentialing & Privileging on April 23 from 9:30 a.m until 11 a.m. Attendees will learn about the regulations and interpretive guidelines as well as the responsibilities of the board, medical staff and hospitals to ensure compliance with the regulations.
